The college has an exclusive Differently Abled Students Center.
Dedicated 05 computers with headphones and specialized software JAWS (Job Access
with Speech) Professional-V.17 software are available for visually challenged students
JAWS is a screen reader software that works with Windows operating system to provide
access to software applications and the Internet. JAWS uses an integrated voice
synthesizer and computer’s sound card to output the content of computer screen to
speakers.
The library provides special facilities to the physically challenged persons so that they do
not need to stay in queue for books. They are offered direct access to the circulation
counter. The library staffs assist them at personal level for searching the required sources
of information.
2000+ audio books are available through Yashowani. Yashowani helps in recording
books for visually impaired students on demand.
Book Bank facility is given to the differently abled students. For every academic year,
the entire book set is allotted to differently abled students.
Some Braille books are provided from NAB (National Association for the Blind),
Satpur, Nashik through Inter Library Loan facility.
Library has 128 Braille Books for competitive examination and overall development of
students.
The Braille periodicals such as Reliance Drishti and Sparshdynan Magzine which are
published fortnightly from NAB (National Association for the Blind), Satpur, Nashik
are made avilabe to visually impaired students. NAB m-way Library has also provided 2
book racks for the differently abled students center.
DOT Mini Devices: The Differently Abled Center Provides 12 DOT Mini Device to
Visually impaired students. The DOT Mini device has recording facility with 8GB
memory and Braille words keys.
KIBO XS Devices: The Center also has three KIBO XS devices. The KIBO XS device
has in-built scanner which scans book page and record it in audio format on Cloud
server. Students retrieve data through their Android Mobile phone using KIBO app from
Google Play Store.
