BENEFITS TO NCC ‘C’ CERT HOLDERS HAVE TAKEN PART IN RPD PARADE
AT NEW DELHI

Ref I HQ (MOD) Rtg B (A) letter no 62529/Rtg B (A) dt 27 May 2013

NCC Cadets holding ‘C’ cert and taken part in Republic Day Parade New Delhi will now be exempted from CEE for Rect into Sol Clk/Skt/Sol Tech and Sol NA and will be awarded 100% marks in lieu of CEE. Such candidates have to pass PFT, PMT and undergo med exam to get enrolled. Names of NCC cadets attending RD parade will be fwd to Rtg Dte by this HQ.

This policy will be implemented w. e. f. 01 July 2013.

CADET'S COMMANDMENTS:

  • I will ensure construction of toilet in my house and motivate at least 10 persons for the same.
  • I will be an 'Aadhar' Indian and would motivate 10 more persons to be one.
  • I will donate blood at least once every year.
  • I will make only digital transactions wherever possible and motivate others for the same.
  • I will plant minimum two trees in a year and care for the same.
  • I will obtain my voter and PAN Card once I have crossed 18 years of age.
  • I will ensure garbage segregation in my house and within 100m of my neighbourhood.
  • I will undertake 100 hours of shramdaan for social service.
  • I will help physically-challenged persons to live their dreams.
  • I will be a role model for gender sensitivity.
  • I will rush to help any accident victim.
  • I will always uphold motto of NCC- ‘Unity and Discipline'. I will be equally disciplined when not under observation

CADETS WELFARE SOCIETY (CWS)

  • The NCC Cadets Welfare Society which was established in 1985 is functioning at HQ DGNCC, New Delhi.
  • It is mandatory for anyone joining NCC as a cadet to become a member of this Society by paying Rs. 15/- (one time) at the time of enrollment.
  • The Society provides following benefits:-
    • Financial assistance/relief: In case of a death during normal NCC activity, the nominee is provided a financial assistance of Rs. 4,50,000/- and in case of death in high risk activity Rs. 5 lacs. It also takes care of treatment if injury takes place during any NCC activity.
    • Scholarships: It provides yearly 1000 scholarships of Rs. 6000/- each (one time) based on academic performance. Out of total 1000 vacancies, minimum ¼ i.e 250 scholarships are given to cadets coming from rural/disturbed areas.
    • Best Cadet Awards:Based on the performance of a cadet in NCC, there are Best and 2nd Best Cadet awards constituted at the Group HQ level. The Best cadet is given an award of Rs. 3,500/- and 2nd Best Rs. 2,500/-.

ELIGIBILITY: CERTIFICATE EXAMS

CERTIFICATE A

The cadet must have attended a minimum of 75% of total training periods laid down in the syllabus for the first and second years of Junior Division/Wing NCC (All Wings).

In order to count his previous tenure, the break in the NCC Training Tenure of the cadet prior to his appearing in the exam should not exceed more than 12 months at one time.

In case the break exceeds 12 months the following procedure will be followed :-

If he has been on the unit rolls for a minimum of two years before his discharge and had attended 75% of the total periods during his NCC Tenure he will need another 36 periods of training to become eligible to appear for Certificate A examination.

In all other cases, where above conditions are not fulfilled, the cadet must attend a minimum of 75% periods of the first and second years of training.

Must have attended one Annual Training Camp.

CERTIFICATE B

The cadet must have attended a minimum of 75% of total training periods laid down in the syllabus for the first and second years for Senior Division/Wing NCC (All Wings).

Break in the NCC Training Tenure of the cadet SD/ SW prior to appearing in the exam should not exceed more than 18 months at one time after his discharge to count his tenure for Certificate B Examination.

In case the break exceeds 18 months the following procedure will be adopted :-

If he had been on the unit rolls for a minimum of two years before his discharge and had attended 75% of the total periods during his NCC Tenure he will need another 36 periods of training to become eligible to appear for Certificate B Examination.

In all other cases where above conditions are not fulfilled the cadet must attend a minimum of 75% periods of the first & second years of training.

Must have attended one Annual Training Camp/NIC/COC/RDC/Attachment with Regular Army/Navy/Air Force.

Cadets possessing Certificate A will be awarded 10 bonus marks.

CERTIFICATE C:

The cadet must be in possession of Certificate B.

The cadet must be in third year of Senior Division/Senior Wing NCC Training.

The cadet must have attended a minimum of 75% of the periods of 3rd year syllabus during the academic session.

Break in the NCC Training Tenure of the cadet SD/SW prior to appearing in the Exam should not exceed more than 18 months at one time after his discharge to count his previous tenure for Certificate C examination.

In case the break exceeds 18 months the following procedure will be adopted:-

If he had been on the unit rolls for a minimum of two years before his discharge and attended 75% of the total period during his NCC Tenure he will need another 30 periods of training to become eligible for Certificate C examination.

In other cases where above conditions are not fulfilled, the cadet must attend a minimum of 75% periods of the third year of training.

Must have attended one ATC and in addition one of the following in three year tenure:-

Annual Training Camp (This is in addition to one mentioned above).

  • Republic Day Camp at Delhi (RDC).
  • Centrally Organized Camp (COC). Ordered by HQ DGNCC
  • Para Training Camp (PTC).
  • National Integration Camp (NIC) (When applicable for SD/ SW Cadets).
  • All India Trekking Expedition (HQ DGNCC Organized).
  • All India Mountaineering Expedition (HQ DGNCC Organized).
  • Attachment Training with any one of the following:-
  • Army Unit.
  • Air Force Station.
  • Naval Base/ Establishment/ Ship/ Sea Training.
  • Service Hospital.

Any one of the following Adventure Courses:-

  • Mountaineering Basic Course.
  • Mountaineering Advance Course.
  • Water Skiing/Snow Skiing Courses.
  • Snow & Ice (Condensed) Course.
  • Sailing expedition with actual sailing exceeding 10 days, duly approved by HQ DGNCC.
  • Participated in NRAI matches as part of HQ DGNCC/Directorate team.
